Projects invitation

Every year, the Snowleader Foundation launches a call for projects during the winter season. These associative projects must address two main themes: promoting young people’s access to the mountains and/or preserving the environment in mountain territories.

In parallel, we are also engaged alongside other actors of the general interest of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region to work together on shared themes. We join forces with other foundations to launch joint calls for projects and are members of a collective that brings together funds and foundations from the Alpine massifs. Thus, together, we hope that our actions resonate even further in the mountains!

The Snowleader Foundation

Annual call for projects

#AAP 2023-2024

Do you have a meaningful project that aligns with the mission of the Snowleader Foundation? Prepare your application and submit it during the annual call for projects, which takes place from December 1st, 2023, to February 27th, 2024.

The themes

You are a non-profit organization, a project initiator with a non-profit purpose, propose your project.

Themes:

1. **Promoting access to the mountains for children and young people:**
The project aims to facilitate access for children and/or young people to the mountains, introducing them to this environment which they may not be familiar with or have limited exposure to. It involves activities such as discovering mountain-related activities, exploring the natural environment, etc.

2. **Acting for the protection of the mountain environment:**
The project involves carrying out on-the-ground actions or awareness campaigns to preserve and protect natural mountain spaces. This includes initiatives related to biodiversity conservation, water and glacier preservation, promoting eco-friendly transportation, recycling, dismantling installations, educating the public, etc.

The theme

Together, we aim to act with the younger generation to prepare for the future. The objective of the “Imagine your mountains!” call for projects is to enable associations to submit projects aimed at youth for the preservation of the environment. Whether it’s raising awareness about the preservation of natural spaces or direct actions for protection or restoration, the steps proposed should have the ambition of engaging today’s children and youth in eco-responsibility in Alpine environments.

This call for projects is open to all legal entities operating in the French mountain ranges. The projects presented must meet the objectives of the general interest and target young audiences (students, middle schoolers, high schoolers, or individuals under 18 years old). The number of beneficiaries of the winning project must exceed 25 young people.
Call for projects #3 took place from November 6, 2023, to January 22, 2024. The winners will be announced at the end of March 2024.

Ecological transition in mountain territories

The Snowleader and Petzl Foundations

Our foundations

“We – the Snowleader and Petzl Foundations – believe it is urgent to get involved in the ecological transition in the mountains. That’s why we launched our first call for projects in June 2022 to encourage changes and preserve the mountain environment, targeting associations, communities, citizen collectives, or public research laboratories working for tomorrow.
In 2024, we will launch the 3rd edition of this call for projects.

Projects supported by the Snowleader and Petzl Foundations contribute to reducing carbon emissions, preserving biodiversity, and raising awareness about climate change in the mountains. These projects must take place in mountain territories.”

The theme

Here are some examples that meet the theme of this call for projects:
– Undertaking forest work that has a positive impact on climate, biodiversity, and landscapes.
– Renovating mountain shelters to improve their thermal insulation and eliminate fossil fuels.
– Raising awareness among communities to understand and adapt to the effects of climate change.
